Well, this is something most didn't know on this board. I was completely unaware the forward movement was calculated into the wind speed. Good stuff man....thanks.
That's assuming all else is equal.
That being said, sometimes the speed is due to environmental conditions that weaken the storm, so its hardly ever that simple.

Does anyone know what kind of damage was done in Mexico around Cancun/Yucatan area?

What's gonna stop it from being a monster tomorrow AM.
There's a little low to his west-ish. It will probably serve to stretch out the center a little bit. Hurts organization and symmetry. The forward motion could effect the circulation, limiting sucking up enough heat on the west side. The west side of the storm is pretty stout so maybe that won't have as much of an impact.
There is some downside factors but water is warm, shear is pretty low ahead, and not much dry air.
In short, idk he'll probably be somewhere between 60-90 mph in the morning.

Some dude who I have never heard of, Joe Valiente JP, says all pumps are working at Jefferson Parish. On the Weather Channel.
They said earlier one pump was down, dunno which one

Very intense convection continues to fire around the center(black X) notice the new white dot to the west, that is a new burst coming up.

Now up 22 mph on last report. While I suspect the faster it moves the less time it has to organize and strengthen, but could it also go so fast that it won't start it's swing to the ME as soon as predicted?

I’m on the Tickfaw river and I hope it doesn’t push more than a foot and a half above flood. I’m gonna be pissed if I have to replace my beer fridge again.
