NOAA42 p3 just passed through the eye and is turning around. It is out of Lakeland.
NOAA49 danced all through it, and is most of the way back to Lakeland.

Does it?
A mile or two on the Western side of Florida around Tampa Bay???
Uh, yeah...

What about the other 150 or so miles inland?
What an odd question. Of course the surge would be less as you go inland, but a storm of this magnitude hitting the 3rd largest city in Florida, that is directly on the coast...yeah, a pretty large impact there.

Wilma holds the recorded record at 882. I wonder what we'll see this one hit.

I wonder if it can break the record set by Hurricane Gilbert? The target is 887 mb.
Wilma beat that at 882.

This mission should help really start narrowing down a landfall area.

Also, we have a VRBO on AMI setup for two weeks in April. I'm pretty much fricked, aren't I.

Rita is #1 in the Gulf at 895 mb
Wilma is #1 in the Atlantic at 882 mb
Patricia is #1 in EPAC at 872 mb
Tip is #1 in the WPAC at 870 mb
I think..

Wasn't Wilma the same speed that Milton is?
Crazy can be 17 mb higher and same top wind.

So would I. I've been there, and your dead wrong.
Nearly everyone on this board “has been there” so you aren’t special.
What part am I dead wrong about? That hurricane winds and torrential rain can’t be fatal and cause widespread destruction in communities further inland than the coast?
