Not to mention all the property well inland that are currently dealing with insurance issues.
At this point, homeowners insurance as far inland as Baton Rouge is horrific and only getting worse.

Yeah I meant on the track. It bumped it from 110mph to 115 mph. So a Cat 2 to a Cat 3

I’m just pointing out that maybe “multimillion dollar homes” in the coastal zone aren’t such a great idea with the risk involved
Ok so now let’s talk California real estate: Mudslides. Fires. Earthquakes.
Potential risk out there is equal or exceeds coastal risk due to the higher population and relative valuations than the gulf coast.

and that your doomsday scenario of the collapse of the high dollar coastline real estate market would…actually help solve the problem
You sound like a climate change person. “Well if a bunch of people would just die it sure would fix climate change!”
Killing people and breaking the US insurance and real estate markets isn’t a solution, it’s a problem.

Filled up the boat, vehicles and spare cans with gas. Milton looks like it will have an impact on gulf oil production and on the other side of the world Iran is due a hit, my guess is Karge island oil terminal. Together with a 40 year low in US emergency oil storage, could 100 dollar a barrel oil be possible next week

Lanier, do you have a genny? Is your power coming in on poles, or below ground? Ours is buried and we seldom lose power. Irma was 13 hours because lightning hit a substation, and a part got trucked in from out of state. Other than that, a few times for minutes.

Yea, I have a 8500Kv portable. I dont have my house wiredt to connect it though. Id just use it to run my fridges and whatever I needed to connect to it.
Hope I dont need it but this looks like a dead on hit for us. Im about 6 miles from the coast. All of our close utilities are underground
Gonna make some decisions tomorrow on the shop. Not sure what to do there. I will wait till tomorrow and see if I think I need to put up my storm shutters here at the house.
Not looking great right now

Good luck, bud. It has been a heck of a ride since you moved down there. Here's to hoping it underperforms.

I just did a straight line measurement on Google maps. I am 4.2 miles on a direct line to Siesta Key. So Im actually closer than I thought. Probably putting up the storm shutters tomorrow. It may be over kill but I DGAF. Limited time here because I have two places to prep by myself

We're taking the kids for their first time to Disney World next week. Check in on Monday evening. 5 days in the park Tuesday-Saturday. What should I prepare for? Currently on hold with Disney to see what our options are.

Gay men, queer women, trannys and $50 chicken fingers.
Hopefully, life wont be in turmoil next week. Hopefully for everyone
