Lakeland, Florida already had more tornados than almost any other American town.

This thing will end up making landfall as a weak category 3.

The media hyped it up as a doomsday scenario when it was a Cat 5 even though they knew it would weaken.
You sound disappointed.

Helene already did that last week, might help St Pete wash out some of the rubble. It was an 8 ft surge two weeks ago.

That’s what is messed up, people wanting a cat 6 invented, worried about records and destruction because they’re obsessed with the shock and awe ignoring what people are going thru and how upside down their future may be after this.

Lol. This won’t be one of the top 25 hurricanes to make landfall this century. I doubt it’ll even be a category 3 at landfall.
Give it a freaking break. There are people here worried about their families and/or property and you are posting nothing but disappointment that it is not worse.

The derivative matters more than the actual value. That makes sense.

If there's a single thing I've learned in my years on TD is that most people would get PISSED when predictions of mass casualty and destruction fail to materialize.

So many seem furious that they were forced to spend an extra day or two with their wife and kids without getting the payoff of their community being wiped off the map.

I wonder if we will get more warnings than north louisiana got earlier this year. Set a record. Drawing a blank on the storm.

Exactly, it's almost as if they'd rather everyone stay put and we just hope it's not one that will kill thousands of people

Barrel. It didn't set a record as far as tornado-producing hurricanes go. It did set a record for most warnings in a single day by the Shreveport NWS office.
