Thank you for that update.

My heart goes out to all the Florida people and hope they and their loved ones make it out/evacuate safely. First Helene and now Milton. That is absolutely awful. I pray everything goes alright for all. This is serious shite.

quote:TBF to you, WESH was saying this afternoon that people staying in homes inland should be spared from life threatening situations. Then tonight they ran with the DeSantis press conference where people are told that anyone with a need for electricity should head up to Jacksonville. I-4 looks like a mess. Tonight Tampa news was showing gas stations closed.
Again, people right on the coast, or in the surge, it's going to be catastrophic.
People that don't leave Hillsborough and Pasco before first light are going to find themselves on the side of the road when the bands start coming in. The video of highways being backed up reminds me of NOLA 36 hours before Katrina.

With all the respect I can muster.
That is 100% not true...weird shite happens in storms...tornadoes happen , electrocutions happen, and a myriad of other issues..then there is the misery for days or weeks after where people have heat strokes and accidents cleaning up...
Simply not true..

Idk Florida very well but that doesn’t seem very smart.
Tell her you’re taking her credit card if she does it usually works with teen girls.

Drive up to Fort Lauderdale and go to Shuck N Dive. Massive LSU alumni hangout.

I know you have to stay. Are you working at the big facility down at the end of Bayshore?

MacDill AFB sent all their planes elsewhere. Sure you could find time and space to leave those elsewhere.

I think we pretty much know the story, but a few troublesome details remain.
Its gonna EWRC tonight. Likely strengthen tomorrow before starting to weaken vs shear starting tomorrow evening. The details of these events remain to be seen.
Then exact landfall is a question. Everything is clustered right around Tampa Bay but exactly how far north or south will matter.
Otherwise, we just watch and wait for it to get in radar range.

If you can’t evacuate, that’s one thing, if you can - don’t be stupid. Now you shut the frick up, please
