Moved my baby girl to Fairhope in August for school. Now, I am an absolute nervous wreck. I know my wife or I are going down before sunrise to get her. I can't believe this shite. Ughhhh.
Unless you’re on the bay, you’re generally fine in Fairhope because it’s inland. Biggest threat is falling trees. Better to be safe than sorry but don’t worry yourself about it too much if it remains a Cat 2 and it moves fast.

A lot of restaurants on 30A are announcing they’re closing for Friday so you better BYO everything including gas because the stations down here have been packed and will likely be dry for a period during and after the storm.

Lived in Fairhope for years, a cat2 isn’t doing much to them other than minor inconveniences. Maybe lose power for half a day and do some limb cleanup but it’ll be mimosa time by 3pm

Beryl was a cat 1 and did a lot of damage and I’m much farther inland than Fairhope. Been through a bunch of hurricanes and I think you’d be crazy to stay there.

Unfortunately I can't offer my help to y'all because I shuttered up the house this morning, took care of some other things, and headed out to Arkansas with a sick wife and toddler

Fairhope caught the east side of the eye wall with Sally and was moving 2mph. Not looking that will be the case this time.

Sally sat down, there’s no indication this is doing anything similar.
Also, I was in Fairhope for Sally and it wasn’t that bad. Glad I packed an extra big cooler though.

Thought the same thing about cat 1 Beryl and two trees went through the house. Kingwood got wrecked and is pretty far inland. I wouldn’t underestimate it.

Looks like we will have a hurricane with the 10pm update. It may be borderline, but it will probably get the nod. 70mph with a pressure in the mid-high 980s.
