Moved my baby girl to Fairhope in August for school. Now, I am an absolute nervous wreck. I know my wife or I are going down before sunrise to get her. I can't believe this shite. Ughhhh.

Why does it seem like every hurricane or tropical storm makes landfall in the middle of the night?

Lived on West Beach for 11 years then bought a home North of the Canal after Sally. Still in Gulf Shores city limits. Work in Ft Morgan everyday.

Anyone help with advice?

Our son and his family live on the west side of Pensacola, about 15 min from Perdido Key. He’s stationed at NAS Pensacola.
Looks like latest forecast brings the eye wall in over Perdido Key and W Pcola. 85/90 mph winds I saw. I would say they’re about 7-8 miles from the coast. They do have a small canal in their back yard so I worry about flooding.

If forecast holds, what can they expect and would it be a good idea to go towards Jacksonville where her folks are?

Moved from SWLA, to SE Alabama to get away from these hurricanes, I’m guessing the only thing we have to worry about is a lil bit of rain , wind and tornados at night

It’s a big newer house, so I have no doubt it’ll be fine, but we have extended family and kids too. Could be fun if we get there early enough on Friday

I mean, I'd probably do it. A lot would depend on which extended family I had with me.
