Question? I think the Z stands for time relating to meridian? What time is 12z in relation to EST?

This time of year 12z is 7am. When time changes it'll be 6am. That's Central. 8 and 7 for Eastern.

I know that this is elementary stuff for some of you, but i just dont have a weather brain like yall, and im trying to learn. The situation with the shear is that when the tropical system and the shear meet, the system will start to weaken, but it will also push the system further east? But the big question is how fast/much will the shear weaken it before it makes it way to land?

Ok what time then are you hearing? Shouldn’t weather be worse earlier in the day based on the models? It already starts at 6:30pm are we thinking an 8:00-9:00 pm CST kickoff?

Tropical systems are low pressure systems that need alignment at the lower level, mid level, and upper level of the atmosphere in order to strengthen and sustain power. Think of it like a chimney.

Wind shear is caused by wind, typically at upper levels of atmosphere due to the primary steering currents like frontal boundaries, pushing in the opposite direction or direction contrary to that of the tropical system, resulting in the storm’s top being blown off (misalignment of the centers of circulation) and thus a deterioration of the storm.

Wind shear can tear a tropical system up quicker than interaction with dry land.

Unbelievable....I am supposed to fly out to San Diego tomorrow and will be there until Tuesday.

Damn storms are going to hit me here in Fairhope, and while in CA.

What are the odds of that happening?
