Anyone have any word from Lakeland area? Haven't been able to get in contact today. Thankfully 3 of my wife's family members got to South Carolina today but 3 stayed behind.

This is a random question, but for the all day and night reporters in the storm, what do they eat?
They all have hotel rooms and places to stay but nothing is open. Do they just travel down with a shite ton of food to cook or eat?
Same thing us insurance adjuster do, bring non perishable food and hope shite opens before your food runs out

Can one of the weather guru's explain why we don't get hail in a hurricane, I think it's because of the warm nature of the storm, but I am clueless when it comes to this stuff.

I am close. We have electricity. It is raining fairly hard but not too hard. Probably the highest gust we have had is about 40-ish.
Are they north, south, east west. I am not trying to out them but any help you can give on the area?
ETA: I just made a fresh pot of coffee and intend to see some of this come through.

At MM 75 of U.S. 1, part of roadway along Sea Oates Beach has been washed out & part inudated with sand."
Thats a tiny key between Marathon and islamorada. There is a little hotel and general store on that key. Ocean sits 10 feet off the road to one side, amd the Gulf is 10 feet on the other.

We had a power surge but that's it...had to reset a few protectors lol. North Lakeland is going to beat this bitch back. Grady Judd has his deputies taking aim at it

Gotcha, thanks! I haven't seen anyone talk about it either from the chasers or the warnings I have seen.

Chris Cuomo gets the clown award for the day. Standing in the street in Naples saying that any second there would be 5 feet of water. Two hours later.....nothing.

basically to have hail, you need really tall thunderstorms like you would see in spring and sometimes summer, with tropical systems the storms while tall they don't have the same massive updrafts to support hail from what i know.
