Sorry for my ignorance. Does the surge follow later? Hours, days? Just wondering what to expect. High winds here, a lot have lost power, we are still good.

Usually before and during. Areas to the east of the eye usually fare the worst.

Where you are the high water will be either with the eye or immediately after it.

You will be either in the northern eye wall or miss it by literally a mile or 2.

The wind will be 100+

The water will come when she pulls to the north.

That's when you seriously have to pay attention outside.

Birmingham and Atlanta look to be fricked. Winds are already gusting here and it's two days out. Ivan really fricked us and is the last one I can remember hitting us.

About 9 miles inland, directly behind I-75 (east) right near Bonita Beach Road.

Map shows anywhere from 1-6 feet.

Edit: If you are East of 75 that will act as a barrier. You should (maybe) be okay.

the keys are on the edge of the shelf and behind them are mostly flats and channels
