Where did you post the NHC?

I think what mostly worries people is the shear size of Irma....making us think that she may not be affected by other fronts and such like the forecasts suggest
And it has been explained many times by people educated on the subject in this thread that this isn't how it works.

That basically show that all of those models stay basically within the original cone. The solid lines are not to be used exactly, but moreso as a median.
no kidding
this might be the most unknownknight thing of all time
cant even interpret his own "gotcha" gif

Why even join this thread if all you're gonna do is piss and moan about the legitimate info being discussed? Seems like there would be much healthier, low-stress things you could be doing with your oh so valuable time? Those of us with skin in this game would kindly ask you and the other idiots flaming this thread to shut the hell up and head elsewhere if you just hate it sooooo much.
This is my last post on the topic - slack, Duke, Pedro, rds, and the like, keep up the quality work. It's nice to have all the pertinent info, models, and discussion in one spot of the web.

The "GIF overtime" seems to line up pretty well with the same thing from the NHC.

But what the hell do I know?

I can't really think of a "good" outcome right now.

I think it's going to hit Florida.
Well, you're making a good point about the inconsistency of the modeling. I think in general people want to believe the forecasting [as is] because it means this piece of sh!t won't be hitting them. The uncertainty can be paralyzing -- these forecasts provide "security".

I need to watch that station for "science" purposes.

Tampa/St Pete could see significant storm surge?

Wow. She's beautiful. But they forgot to dust the powder off her lower face before they went live.

Im a tad concerned for a few of our posters who are going to ride this out at ground zero..
Surviving the initial hit is one thing. Dealing with the loss of human services for a good week (possibly) is another issue all together.

When is this bitch turning north? And why? Starting to get anxious in Nola again

I appreciate the response. I wasn't sure I was going to get a serious one.

not only the size, people worry just when its something that could end up in the gulf combined with what happened with katrina, the major floods last year, harvey this year, its natural to be nervous, hell as someone that lives and breathes this stuff i'm even nervous. but, these models are pretty good with these stronger systems so i doubt anything crazy happens and even if it does which i highly doubt people would still have time to prep wherever it would wind up.

New GFS makes it look like Irma has a hot foot.
You don't realize how wrong you are.
