For fricks sake guy. You are saying it's about to enter the GOM. It's nowhere near the GOM right now. It won't turn north for a couple days. You don't have to be smart to look at fricking pictures.

What people don't understand is that hurricanes want to go to poleward, and they'll take any opportunity they can find to go that direction.

Exactly. People don't understand that if the Bermuda High didn't exist hurricanes would never hit the US. They would go straight up the Atlantic or loop back into Africa and Europe.

I have property and family in Palatka,Florida and have been following Irma closesly for 2 days now. I do not recall many models saying it would go this far west a couple days ago. I could be wrong

RumTig, sincerely didn't know, check my posts

Opinions on whether we should evacuate Savannah still. We have a 3 bedroom lake house on lake Harding outside of auburn to ourselves if we do.

How long does it take storm surge to get back to normal levels in Tampa if this thing keep a it's same track? Is it a day, couple days, week. This honestly helps determine if I am gone in the am. TIA

I'm in Bluffton (HHI) and starting to question the evacuate decision really for the first time. But with 2 little ones were probably just going to go.. will never regret that decision

Sounds like my ex wife. Just wish it had been my pole more often.

The prediction how far east or west it goes before turning north is going to keep changing until it actually happens. What you were were off on was the timing- it's not going to happen for a couple days- no matter where it decides to do it.

True but the latest track concerns me. Even after landfall it has the storm tracking NNW. 2 days ago that track was much farther East. Lots of bad memories about the Katrina track being off 300 miles a few days before landfall.

Those poor souls on St. Maartin and St. Martin as a Hurricane Watch was just issued for them for Hurricane Jose.

And a lot of assistance didn't show up until today. I guess they'll hold off until Jose passes. Sucks big time.

Just imagine you are just emerging from your shelter and everything in your life is reduced to rubble....then you are under another hurricane watch.
