Been here all day, bruh. Chicken pays 2X during situations like this. Getting ready for Christmas.

I can't believe a dozen idiots in Key Largo are going to ride it out on their docked sailboats. The CNN guys were basically like Hooper commenting on the boatload of shark fisherman who just insulted him, "Hahaha, they're all gonna die."

Gut feeling is it keeps trending west. I don't like that.
Peej has ruined intuition calls for everyone.

Just a hypothetical question if this count reaches the GOM. How warm is the water in the GOM after Harvey?

Plenty warm.

NHC is sending some of its forecasters to the National Weather Service's Weather Prediction Center in Maryland in case NHC loses comms during landfall
It'll be interesting to see how the new building holds up.

In 1992, Hurricane Andrew blew the WSR-57 weather radar and the anemometer off the roof of NHC's/the Miami State Weather Forecast offices.[33] The radar was replaced with a WSR-88D NEXRAD system in April 1993 installed near Metro Zoo,[34] near where Hurricane Andrew made landfall.
In 1995, the NHC moved into a new hurricane-resistant facility on the campus of Florida International University, capable of withstanding 130 mph (210 km/h) winds.[35] Its name was changed to the Tropical Prediction Center in 1995.

Me too man. I simply said its trending more and more west, since the predictions had it turning back into the Atlantic, then up the east coast, then east Florida, now it's middle to west Florida.

Like piss warm.

Not sure that a previous hurricane lowers water temps in the massive gulf, but do recall that the track that Harvey took, even accounting for the easternmost winds, were still west of any track Irma may potentially take.

I don't think people should be banned for it, but it usually adds multiple pages of confusion to the thread as people see it and think it is some sort of legitimate prediction/forecast.

That's what I'm saying. It's not even a gut thing. I don't think anyone is denying the northward turn. It's not a sin to question when it will happen.

00Z GFS run looks pretty similar through forecast hour 24, slightly stronger.

his thing is about to finish another ewrc...hit warm water, but calling it to drop to cat4. I dont understand the reasoning there
Theycsaid wind shear would start to impact it at Florida

Depends on what people mean by "west". If it's Louisiana, the high to our west would need to vanish. Else, their guts are expecting the equivalent of water running uphill instead of downhill.
Guess we might have the high pressure all wrong, but there's zero reason to think it right now.

shite. My local weather man just ran through some potential wind gusts as Irma moves through Florida. 149 mph in Daytona by Monday Morning. 120 in Tampa. Our property is about 60 miles Northwest of Daytona as the crow files.
The structures on the property won't make it through winds of 120+. Even if they could hold up, they're surrounded by trees. Damn.

If it goes west will Mitch save us?

Looking better for South Carolina, but worse for others unfortunately. I might not have to evacuate after all if the current shift pattern continues. Going to Atlanta could be going into the storm.

Congrats on supernatural powers that defied the weather channel the past two days. Am I arguing with an admin or something? TD mobile doesn't display the sheriff badge.
