And this is why so many people died evacuating for Rita. Trust the process. I fully believe its up to you if you wanna leave early. I would've left Miami two days ago just to be safe.

Even if you can get from Miami to Tampa that's looking a lot better right now. If you can get up to the panhandle, even better.
Very true. I am not familiar with the transit infrastructure of Miami-Dade. So moving even half of that population might be difficult with 3.5 days left until conditions go to shite.

It can't handle rush hour. Just imagine what it will look like for an evacuation of the Miami, FLL and WPB area in total.

Will this be longer than the Harvey thread?

Go under global and watch NAVGEM it is basically agreeing with Euro and GFS. But I don't think we will know anything until the next few days.

Yikes, this makes me feel even stronger about them being 24hr behind right now.

I don't think Florida has enough gasoline on hand for everyone to evacuate. I-75 and I-95 could become real parking lots.

Talk right now is rationing gas purchases across the state from what I've heard from the 11:15 EM conference call.
Right now as it is, Monroe County is running out of gas.

Has anyone been able to contact anyone on St John in the last hour by chance?
Last I heard from family was 3 hours ago. Hoping they just lost cell service.

No. We lost all contact with St. John about 12:30. As soon as I hear something I'll post it.
Where on St. John? Most of my friends are in Cruz Bay.
