They shut down my flight to Vermont once for my grandmother's funeral because of some light fricking drizzle.

Now you're telling me they can actually land that shite in hurricanes over the open ocean and they're not telling us?

That camera isn't going to last the storm. It has some serious wobble already.

Eh, it's probably just a little bumpy.

How pissed are you if you're the flight crew? Yeah, uh, so you're going to land and need to find shelter for the incoming category five hurricane.

I was just thinking the same thing. How is there any way they can make the return flight and not limit their hours out somewhere over the Atlantic.

believe that's in Fajardo. I lived on a Navy base nearby growing up. Culebra and Vieques likely to take it hard as well.

I can't believe they let it even take off.

Where are they going to divert it to? Miami? Ok, wait 4 days and they're fricked too.

It arrived in San Juan 4 minutes ago.

Yeah I saw that. I think tm the models will be three days out and if its still Miami-Ft.Laud people need to move from potential flood zones.

Web cam in St. Croix that is still up. The swells coming onto the beach are incredible. Looks like Waimea Bay out there during a surfing competition.

"The National Weather Service in San Juan has issued a

* extreme wind warning for...
Saint John in Virgin Islands...
Saint Thomas in Virgin Islands...

* until 115 PM AST

* at 1114 am AST, National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
extreme winds, associated with the eyewall of major hurricane
Irma, about to move over St John, moving west at 20 mph. This
extreme winds will affect St John and St Thomas through 100 PM
AST. This is an extremely dangerous and life-threatening situation!

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take cover now! Treat these imminent extreme winds as if a tornado
was approaching and move immediately to the safe room in your
shelter. Take action now to protect your life!

The safest place to be during a major landfalling hurricane is in a
reinforced interior room away from windows. Get under a table or
other piece of sturdy furniture. Use mattresses, blankets or pillows
to cover your head and body. Remain in place through the passage of
these life-threatening conditions."
