I mean.. No way that was just a standard passenger flight, right? Maybe a group of storm chasers or something? That is dumb as hell

Little Dix resort on Virgin Gorda has been closed for over a year undergoing a major remodel. They were supposed to be opening before the end of the year. They are about to take a direct hit.

this latest GFS run is literally the worst one yet.

skirts Cuba, hits Miami, then runs north to the Carolinas.

The Delta Flight just landed

Looks like the plane will be leaving San Juan and headed to Santo Domingo in 20 minutes to wait out the storm.

On the bright side though, if it keeps shifting east as the models are suggesting, there's a chance it could miss the US mainland altogether.

I'm predicting a direct hit between Coral Gables and Miami but even if this Hurricane goes east the storm surge on the east coast of Florida is going to be brutal with the west winds pushing & piling all that water up. There will be a lot of devastation all up along the coastline since I can't think of the last time a significant Hurricane really impacted the area from Jacksonville to Miami. I think the one last year that hit Port Canaveral was pretty weak if I recall.
