Then you are praying the Euro is wrong. If Irma comes across FL and turns right, GTFO.
I-75 will be a parking lot if that happens. Get on 54 and follow it through Zephyrhills to 98. At that point, storm location will tell you whether to go north or south on 98. If WAY north is the ultimate answer, go south for a few miles, then north on 471 through Webster.
These back roads are to keep you out of traffic, not the storm. Start driving at 1 AM and you can roll.

Admit it...you just wanted to be able to type Chad and Niger in the same sentence.

I'm starting to believe the GFS as far as intensity goes. It just keeps getting stronger and stronger.

And imagine just a couple hundred years ago not even knowing this shite was coming Always wondered what it was like 100+ years ago. Easily think an outer rain band was some Summer afternoon storm and having no clue that a Cat 4 was coming behind it a few hours later.
There are several books about the Galveston Hurricane of 1900 Refused to listen to news from Cuba that talk about the primitive (relative to today) exchange of information by telegraph.

Or just find a blue shed and relax.

I don't understand why they aren't talking about and taking into consideration the effect the mountainous regions are going to have on its track and intensity and steer it in different directions
Surely this thing could break up, stall, speed up, slow down, etc, I feel like they feel this thing is just going to keep steam rolling through the Caribbean and Keys.

If the eye doesn't go over land the hurricane suffers little to no weakening. These islands that it's about to annihilate here in the next 12 hours or so are not large enough to cause any noticeable weakening. So long as the eye stays over warm water for an extended period of time it will continue to maintain its intensity.

If it comes this way, I'm getting the frick out. Period.

None of the islands other than Hispaniola or Cuba could really do anything notable.
