Stormcarib is a fairly primitively site but gives first hand reports from people in the carribean. The problem for reports coming out will be lack of power in a lot of these islands after it passes

Just looked at a few posts. Lady from St. Maarten posted that it was a hazy sunset which indicated a plume of Saharan sand is preceding the storm. That's kind of surreal if true.

Where can you really go from St Martin at the moment?

I imagine the time to grab a flight as passed. You can't go anywhere. Just find a safe spot on the side of a mountain and hunker down.

The eastern side is the most powerful is it not? And those were recently measured at 192-195 MPH?

I wish that Jim Cantori was on the beach in Antigua doing a remote. Be glad to see his arse sucked in a a 60 foot tidal wave.

It's interesting to look at the pictures on the first page from 8/30 showing the predictions for 9/9. It seems like the storm is moving ahead of schedule

It is roughly 175 miles farther west than the Euro predicted it would be 5 days ago, but nearly the same latitude. Pretty solid, but faster nonetheless.

Would be terrifying to know this or similar was your only defense.

And to know that no rescue would come. With even what we know now, how devastating it is even with preparation.
