The good news is that everything shows it weakening by the time it gets to FL down to a cat4 after threading above Cuba.
I know that's relative with the damage a cat4 can do, but we will not be talking about a monster with 190 mph winds.

Yes, it creates a weakness and the flow around it is out of the SW. That helps turn Irma to the NE.
The 12z Euro is more progressive with the trough and has that lagging energy a bit to the west at 120h. Now what does that change?
