Dude, storms hurt all no matter how small it is. People on here make fun of Isaac when it hit us but my area took the brunt of the damage from that storm and it flooded like a motherfricker. In fact, that was the most water I've ever seen in my area outside the August and March floods last year. Katrina and Gustav had nothing on little old Isaac for my area. Where the storm hits is everything on who it impacts and how bad it is. Hell, Gustav was much worse than Katrina for my area.

I do not understand this, I see how it reduces the wind speeds in relation to the eye...but I dont see how it changes anything on the ground?
The effect of barometric pressure and augmented winds. Question 6

between the flooding in NOLA a few weeks ago and Harvey hitting Texas hard, we don't need another natural disaster to deal with.
I'm pretty sure the nation didn't mourn or give two flying shits about NOLA flooding due to its own fault a few weeks ago.

We're supposed to be at Bald Head Island next week. Not sure I want to leave our dogs at the boarding facility if Columbia is going to get buttfricked.

923.5 mb looks to be the lowest the plane found on its pass through the eye... but let's see what the dropsonde says when its info starts coming through

Can the experts please tell us if the eye going out on the water like this will strengthen or slow it down some? It looks like it loses formation before the second hit slightly down from Savannah?

Hypothetically that run happens in real life.
You literally have ~50 miles of error between total annihilation and maybe surviving it not too bad.

South Carolina has a night home football game on 9/16. It makes sense that a major weather event would occur for the 3rd year in a row before a big home night game.

depends on ocean temps and atmospheric set up. looks like the gfs is calling for some slight weakening before coming on shore again. unfortunately it looks like it wont be major weakening but still.

Odd. That's a significant shift east from the past models
I wonder what they're seeing to cause that?
