I feel like this has been way too common of a theme this year.

"Impressive despite some adverse conditions it's working against"

I mean really? This is November. When's the door going to close?

That 1 a.m. Monday location shows the storm over Florida Bay which is a broad, very shallow bay with lots of sea grass in it. I'd guess it's very warm water, but shallow enough to wade across.

Wonder how that affects a storm?

Eta is going to disrupt the Masters. We had to wait until mid November for the tournament, and somehow a tropical storm is going to pass over Augusta on Friday.

Trump bringing this storm to Georgia as punishment, too late to have another vote. Damn you 2020.

Zack Fradella said when the models start going crazy like that it shows the storm will probably fall apart in the gulf

12z gfs has it spinning in circles until it falls apart to an open wave then approaching SELA before getting swept up by front

Yeah most meteorologists have this staying below hurricane strength.

The cold front we expected for the end of the week does not appear to be happening so it could be an issue for the northern gom

Huh? From the NWS Forecast Discussion:

LONG TERM (Wednesday-Saturday)...
Pacific Maritime modified Canadian cold front moves into the
forecast area Wednesday which should go a long way in buffeting
Tropical Storm Eta from the local area.

Euro shows the same for Friday afternoon. It should be weakening significantly on final approach but the trough over Texas is trending slower and deeper. Here comes the Cone!
