Thanks for the explanation. The WTF was about the orange line going straight up the middle of LA and wondering how that was possible considering NHC bringing it into Florida.

How many wishcasters going to come in and say no way does a hurricane stop on a dime and make a hard turn like that into Florida?

I don't envy the forecasting baws on this one.

Eta is going to disrupt the Masters. We had to wait until mid November for the tournament, and somehow a tropical storm is going to pass over Augusta on Friday.

I’m sure Augusta National thought the last thing thing they would have to worry about in November was a tropical storm.

Will the Atlantic just die already
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical
Storm Eta, located just southeast of the southern Florida Peninsula
and the Florida Keys.
1. A low pressure system is located several hundred miles southwest of
the Azores. Shower and thunderstorm activity associated with the
system is beginning to show some signs of organization. This low
could develop further over the next several days, and a tropical or
subtropical storm could develop by the end of the week while this
system moves eastward or east-northeastward over the northeastern
Atlantic Ocean.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...30 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...medium...40 percent.
2. A tropical wave is forecast to move over the central Caribbean Sea,
where an area of low pressure could form in a few days.
Environmental conditions are forecast to be conducive for
development as the system moves slowly westward through the end of
the week.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...30 percent.

Hey, that's the first one I've noticed for him. I really haven't looked at many discussions/advisories lately, though.

Heading to Destin Friday. Hopefully ETA doesn’t screw with us to bad.

It looks likely that there will be another WCAB system.

Not a half bad structure despite the dry air working in. Bad flooding in Ft. Lauderdale too.
