Also, even if it had a perfect path straight into Florida they'd always have 1 model right in the pooper of NOLA.

Looks like that WCAB system might end up something. Going to be yet another named storm. Xmas doomcane seems realistic.

Don't remember seeing too many 60mph tropical storms that are that symmetrical

Movement: stationary. What kind of steering currents does it take to nudge it in a direction (any direction) or does it sniff out lowest pressure somewhere in its 'cone' of possibility?
