I’m sure Entergy will let go off when a bird farts on the wires just before it’s time to go to sleep.

For Hurricane Georges in 1998, Entergy pulled all of their guys the day before the storm hit. All of them.
So we’re sitting in the den watching The Simpsons on Sunday night, with not a cloud in the sky and not a gust of wind yet, when the power dropped.
No effects from the storm until much, much later.

Power out in mandeville. I have no idea why as it’s only blowing like 29 mph

WSTE? Mine went out a few minutes after 6 and it was calm as frick for the hour previous. I sincerely loathe WSTE. Their grid has always been shite in mandeville, but it held up 3 hours into the arse whipping from Ida. Now it goes out an entire hour before this shite even starts? So damn aggravating.

I'm off of 311, but my power shut off about an hour ago now. I didn't learn the lesson of Will Campbell and was talking a big game too soon

Power out in actual Old Metairie. I blame the people who love their precious Oak trees.
