pressure at 949 mb at the surface in the latest drop... so that's up

also... storm movement for the duration of the current mission (~5 hrs 30 mins between eye drop 1 and the latest drop) has been 0.9 N, 1.2 W

The storm is currently well ventilated- i.e. as long as it stays like this it most likely wont weaken.

A what goes in must come out kind of thing. The weakness in convection and outflow to the southwest is probably helping keep a lid on the higher end strength possibilities too.

No problem. I grew up in north Augusta. If the thing takes an unexpected southern track, however, the winds and flooding potential will obviously be worse.

Show me a model that had 95L forming into a hurricane and hitting LA

95L could form into a strong TS or weak Hurricane and hit near the Tx and La border. West Louisiana is still part of Louisiana, even though it's not BR or NOLA.

Hurricane Hunters were just in Isaac... and I think they had issues finding the eye

it's like they thought the eye was south... and then suddenly it jumped like a whole degree north

The following is an absurd HWRF run for Mangkhut in the WPac.

It's going hard with a pressure of 834 and max winds of 270 kts.

Your move HMON.

Anheuser Busch announced today that they are switching a second facility, the Fort Collins, CO brewery, to canned water production. Cartersville, GA brewery was the first.

There's no way that's going to happen though. For reference, the lowest pressure recorded was Tip (870 mb) though Haiyan (pictured below) might have been lower. The highest winds recorded were 215 mph with Patricia. It does signal Mangkhut will be super powerful though, and bad news for the Philippines.

I think he meant km/h and not knots. Max winds are still over 200mph
