TWC was great back in the day before they went with NBC News.
Remember all the Michelin commercials and Local on the 8s?
Is that back when they did Local on the 8s to Vivaldi's Four Seasons?

To be honest, I think a lot of us can relate
I don’t ever so much as turn on the weather channel, I use the app for local weather but I got so fed up with their clickbait videos with doom and gloom titles. The worst part is when you see a title and think your death is imminent so you click on it and are met with a 30 second commercial. You’re about to die, but before we tell you when, watch this ad!
I get my updates here, tropical tidbits, and a couple guys on Twitter..Ryan Maue is pretty good.

Locals on the 8s to find out how fast the temp was dropping when snow was forecast was the GOAT

Looks like Central Florida gonna get the worst of it. This thing will look like a legitimate full grown hurricane Soon

Luckily Irma knocked down all the trees at my families lake house a couple years ago so I don’t have to worry about that this year.

The Weather Channel sold its assets, including weather.com, Weather Underground, the related mobile applications, and their underlying data platforms, to IBM in late 2016 although The Weather Channel itself is still owned by the Bain/Blackstone/NBC-Universal consortium.
Actually, The Weather Channel (TV) was sold to Bryon Allen's Entertainment Studios. You know those channels you pass by every time in your channel guide like Dogs.TV? That is the owner of TWC now.

Stronger storm is still further south, the difference is what happens after 120 hours in the two runs. That's a pretty dramatic shift to get out to sea. Hopefully we seem some run to run consistency with the 12z today.
Levi touched on that saying the more northerly tracks were unrealistically weak and if he had to bet he would bet on the southern portion of ensembles being the more likely ones based on the storms current strength and environment it will encounter

I saw el gaucho post a serious response one time. True story.

Hurricanes can also create their own weather patterns if it has momentum. I'm no expert, but I think that's false.
What I am saying here is that if a storm has enough forward speed, it is going to push the ridge out of the way. But if the storm is still "weak" then its steering is still determined by the ridge of High pressure.
These systems like to take the path of least resistance. But there are so many variables that can happen that can determine where something is going. Forecasting is no different than trying to predict the next Powerball drawing.

This is certainly the case.
The question for end result is starting to get into timing. Will Dorian be in position to take the weakness north?

Yes, I remember it. As far as I know, I'm the oldest poster on TD. (I'm well over 80.) If it happened in the last 75 years I probably remember it.

That’s not the way it works at all. Storms don’t just burst through troughs and fronts.
