I mean if you go back and look at the 5 and 7 day models along the way, then they missed by a ton. Congrats on 12 hour predictions finally saying the storm was staying offshore.

Assholes got a weeks worth of ratings talking about gloom and doom for the east coast.

Eyewall getting close to us here east of Beaufort NC. Things have really started to pick up in the past hour.

Good luck Baw. While it is not what it once was, it's still a pig.

The NHC and the prominent models moved the storm track to remain offshore on Friday 11am I believe. Dorian hit all those 96hr to 128 hour model marks with precision.

Post way way back that this storm was NOT playing by the rules nor fore cast. Caught hell for that.

That all happened because the storm just stalled for over a day in the Bahamas.

72 hours out from West Palm it was nearly impossible to predict when it would stop moving west. The high pressure ridge to its north was holding steady and they were waiting on a trough that was over Oregon.

And yet they nailed it.

But if that big bitch would have slid over just 80 miles to the west, Florida would have been all kinds of fricked. The margin of error was 80 miles.

The same could have been said for hurricane Matthew had it been say 20 miles more to the west.

We have been Lucky here on the east coast of Florida. Extremely lucky considering the cat 4/5 storms that have been off our coast the last 5 years.
