Dorian moved 25 miles in 24 hours. They say that’s the second shortest straight line movement for an Atlantic storm since Betsy in 1965

And no amount of begging, pleading, and wish casting by TWC was ever going to change that. All of those guys on location essentially got a pretty good vacation with few crowds out of the deal. Hell they showed up 3 days before Dorian made it to the Bahamas and have been twiddling their thumbs up and down the east coast. They've got to pump their audience for all it is worth just to try to break even now.

I’ve seen one model showing that, with all others having it stay off the coast.

Fairly certain no one predicted the storm to slow to the forward motion speed that its been for the last couple of days.

Except for the NHC and every model that's at their disposal. The stall was well predicted even a week ago, the timing was just off on the slower motion to the Bahamas. The early models were dumping rain over Florida as it stalled out and then slowly moved north. The slower motion just meant it happened farther east.

We’re under Hurricane Warning in Charleston now.

On the bright side, traffic is light and it’s a nice, sunny day.

IDK if this has been posted in the thread already, but this guy has a bunch of videos of Freeport, Bahamas. what a nasty scary experience for those guys.

And I COULD win the lottery.

It's much more likely that Wilmington takes a direct hit but still not highly likely.

The 00z Euro has it come really close to the SC coast. Charleston could well find it's self in the core of the storm with the actual center just off shore. The center coming ashore over Charleston on it's way out isn't a total outlier solution.

I suspect the hurricane center has the path just about right though, so the most likely is still Dorian staying just offshore.

If it does hit Charleston, then it’s only fair for someone in Charleston to win the lottery. Things are looking up for me.

Wow, looks like significant water in Freeport.

The wind dmg is nowhere near as tragic as Abaco.

It will be interesting to see if this is correct because Freeport was hit with a 25 ft storm surge and that does not take into account the high King Tide or the Wave Heights.

Actually I don’t think that map is accurate because the Airport was under 25 feet of water at one point.

It is almost certain to move more eastward by tomorrow. The slower it moves north, the more it will be driven eastward.
Let's pray for a complete miss.
