midland, Texas or redland, South Dakota office instead
Easier to score some meth around those places?

The interstates are at critical level. I have been through Huntsville to Madison twice in the past 4 months.
Can we get 565 those additional lanes already

At one time a few years back, Hunstville further enjoyed unusually low home prices compared to other cities in Alabama (Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Mobile)
Not sure if that's still applicable.
I do know that some areas of Tuscaloosa are ridiculously high for this size town.

Other than op living on the outskirts of Huntsville, it's a great place to live. Biggest downside is the limited options for direct flights from the airport. You have to connect to fly to most places.
Great economy that is very insulated from recession relative to most other places. Solid entertainment and outdoor options. Better for raising families than being a young, single professional, but that is slowly changing too.

Those of you hating on Huntsville obviously have never been. It's a really nice and scenic city with national parks in the middle of town, awesome restaurants and breweries, and the people were super nice. Oh and they have Google Fiber

I spent some time in Huntsville last August. You can keep it.

Pretty much exactly this. Spot on analysis. Excited for Midcity to be finished, between that and the entertainment district they are developing with Lowe Mill, Campus 805, and Stovehouse there won’t be a good excuse for a young professional to be bored.

That area sucks...
It’s literally in the middle of scenic mountains, with an extremely scenic lake like 25 minutes from south Huntsville in Lake Guntersville.
That area has a good economy, high paying jobs, fun activities for all types. Honestly for a city it’s size it’s done just about everything right.

Y'all got some IT jobs?
I'm the bee's knees at what I do in Birmingham, tops in the industry. I've been looking for a spot at redstone, NASA, or down south for a defense contract near the beach.

If you like cyber security and are good as you say, check out Dynetics. They for sure aren’t the only people hiring in that area but they are hiring like crazy.

I stayed with my cousin that lives there and works for LG and his fiancé who was born and raised.
I went to a few bars, watched football at her families house, went to a few different restaurants and coffee shops. Even went to church on Sunday.
They live downtown near a big hospital and some delivery BBQ joint.

My impressions of Huntsville are 20 years old but back then, I dropped my kids off at Space Camp and spent some time there. I was very impressed with it. I can only imagine the improvements in the last 20 years.

I'm a data guy, I don't do front end. Anything SQL or any ETL tool. Design, architecture, development, etc.
NASA actually uses my tool of preference but they never have openings.
