Humans are predators but they don’t like to think about it

Humans are in fact, super-predators. And they are omnivores and our nature compels us to consume the flesh of other animals.

But we outsource that part of our lives. The chicken whose head was neatly removed so that it could bleed out is a million miles away from the sanitized, styrofoam and plastic wrap package of thighs gleaming in the grocer’s case.

Even the word ‘predator’ has a negative connotation in our society when used in most contexts describing people. But should it?

We outsource the farming too. That's how economies work. What's your point?

Not when I shoot a mule deer or an elk. Put it down personally and butcher and process on the way to the freezer and table.

Eyes in front of my head makes it so.

This is why I like to hunt and fish. I feel like my animalistic self out in the wild.

This is why I respect Hunters and like to hunt when I can.

You respect the kill more. You made it.

Better than the ones who think their meat comes from the grocery store

I like meat, but I also like fruits, vegetables, fungi, etc.

Humans are kinda apex predators. It could be debated. We didn't start as apex predators. We instead figured out how to use our giant brains to our advantage and make tools to kill anything we wanted.

Did you build your own house, manufacture your own car, refine your own gasoline, etc.? People outsource almost everything in their lives.

The average person would probably be fine walking up to a tree and picking an apple.

The average person would not be fine with stunning a cow and then slicing its throat open to release blood before butchering.

In America.
