They just met again in a diff tournament and Magnus Carlsen resigned move 1 against Hans in protest.

Watched it live. Pretty crazy. No one saw it coming. Magnus is getting torched. People want him to comment at least.

I think fide gets involved now but yea, Hans has a record of cheating online in cash tournaments, and Carlsen doesn’t need the money or anything so he’s using his influence to make this a serious issue. He earned everything in his career and a chess cheater must really piss him off to no end

I’m Team Magnus and hopefully we’ll get proof eventually

Its a much bigger advantage than that. A better analogy is going last in a college overtime period.

Yeah. It's enough of an advantage than in GM matches, black almost never wins. He usually plays for a draw. Black will win some, but it is far less common than wins from white.

I think the only two times he cheated (or was caught) were in non-prize play.

Based on Magnus' pulling out of the Generation Cup I don't think we should expect to see him play Hans anytime soon.

You can hear a "custodian" banging on a trashcan during key parts of the match.

Magnus is being very unprofessional in all of this.

If I was Carlsen, I would have never played the guy given his background.

Someone has to stand up to the cheating and apparently the word has been out for a while on Hans and chess.com feels pretty strongly about it too.

So are they saying this guy had an accomplice that was putting the moves in a computer and then feeding him the right moves via vibrating beads?

Next tournament, it's a jailhouse search for this guy.

Thats one possibility. Magnus hasnt clarified his reason for protest. His protest could also be that he thinks Hans should be banned from all events since he cheated in online for money events during covid. We will have to wait and see.

Hans admitted to the online cheating. But only two instances. Apparently chess.com knows of more which is why they banned him. He’s still lying.

Magnus made a statement today, which mentioned how great hans nieman's play is as well as his mentor Maxim Dlugy. Apparantley Dlugy cheated in the past as well. He's certainly implying the dude is cheating

Magnus short statement

The issue comes was that he basically had a spy leaking him prep from Magnus's camp

As much as anal beads would be funny that was just an Elon Musk troll post that everyone ran with

Weren't there also reports that Niemann couldn't seem to sit still during the match?
