I hate to say it but the courts are going to have to start holding these “journalists “ responsible for what they print. I would normally argue that you do NOT want to restrict the press in any way. But that assumes they at least make an effort to act ethically.

We've got to the point where this is absolutely nothing to lose for an accuser of a right wing politician or figure. The media won't even remotely hold you accountable for telling lies, so why not do it if it advances your cause or makes you money? Avenetti's client absolutely lied about being gang raped by Kavanaugh on national news and nothing happened to her.

Weinstein's accusations were known years prior to 2017 when they were released. IIRC, Ronin Farrow was even told to hold on to the story for a while. What changed in that time period?...
