Teacher.
In the time Karen typed out that email, she could have instead called the teacher to discuss why little Karen is failing rather than e-bitch at him for holding his students accountable. The AUDACITY.

Teacher. Parents never take responsibility for the lazy little shits they raised.

Teacher. Pretty nice of the teacher to allow them to get in their late assignments before finalizing their grades. Unfortunately for those kids the real world doesn’t work that way, they are missing out on a valuable lesson.

The Teacher is so clearly in the right, that it is hard to imagine a genuine position of backing the parent here.
Get off your lazy, entitled, whiny, I have an excuse for everything in life arse, and do the work.

She didn’t even have to say “mother”. You can tell a woman wrote it from the dramatic capitalization.

I sure hope he/she isn’t an English teacher.

TL;DR:
Teacher: You kids are slacking, I expect better. Do better.
Parent:

I have a couple thoughts on this. First, I need more context in the situation before I take a side. What grade level is this and is this the first time that this teacher is taking this line? I know a few teachers and they specifically are making the work easier for the students (and parents) because they too are frustrated.
Second, the parent should send their response in a more cordial manner. All this did was exacerbate the problem. The teacher may be willing to talk it out or come to a better solution that could benefit everyone. Now all anyone will do is point fingers and bitch until someone gets fired or it goes away.
Third, the children are responsible for their work and the grade is a direct reflection of their effort and participation. It might be a good time to teach them this lesson. The teacher may have come off as a tool but he isn't wrong. He is not required to accept late work or give the children a chance to turn in missed assignments.
This idea of remote learning isn't working well and this is a great example of it. I actually think I appreciate the teacher more for being direct and concise about the issues and his future actions.
ETA: If we are honest about it they aren't failing any students this year. Get over it and move on

Teacher. The kids need to learn responsibility and discipline.

I am a teacher. I side with the teacher’s message, but his grammar sucks and he should have worded it differently.
If the parent is that outraged, she needs to schedule a formal conference with an administrator instead of fire off with the caps lock on. Most issues can be resolved with some healthy dialogue.

Everything about her email makes me want to punch her in the face

Let me just say this I don't have to see your face or even have you in my class to know who you are as a person. I know exactly who you are just by looking at your grades.
Just tell teach you are black and/or brown and you e been out protesting inequity and you won't stand for this blatant racism...
For real though, it's refreshing to see a person in academia tell the truth. The truth is...if you have shitty grades, you probably aren't trying very hard.
ETA I assumed this was a college prof email to students. Still applies to primary school as well. Do your work.

Teacher. Do your work. Turn it in on time. Don’t give a frick what you’re going thru. Don’t turn your assignment in, F.

I’m not reading the parent email. The all caps and grammar says it all.
I’m team teacher 100%. Kids “DURING THIS TIME” need to learn some fricking accountability

They both acted badly. The teacher was unprofessional.
If I received that letter I’d remove my kid from that class.

Is the kid being a lazy arse? Is the kid running away from problems, making excuses or choosing not to do their work? If so, team teacher.
Teacher is doing her part to try to give this kid a kick in the arse. Everyone doesn't respond to sympathy. Some only respond to challenge.

Always team teacher because kids are little shits. Little Jimmy Bob probably went crying to mommy that he's failing the class.
