How would our country be right now if 9/11 never happened?

I delivered to one of my stops today and the customer and his friends were watching the French brothers documentary on 9/11. We were talking about how would this country be right now if 9/11 never happened. Would we still invade Iraq, how many of our soldiers would be alive, what would politics look like right now, what would the economy look like, and would we still have more freedom and rights like before the attacks or would we still have all these regulations. Most importantly would LSU and Tennessee still have played in the sec championship game because the LSU vs auburn game and Tennessee vs Florida game was postponed that weekend.

The CIA might not be reading this.

It would be easier to board an airplane

My friends birthday wouldn't be celebrated. And that would give me the sads.

well, we invaded Iraq and Afghanistan, which pretty much put the middle east in check and also firmed up our oil supply for a generation.
I'd say the most direct affect on my life would be that if 9/11 had never happened, I'd still be using air travel pretty frequently. I seldom fly anywhere now.

Idk. That’s such a monumental event that it’s honestly difficult for myself to picture a what If instance about it.

I’d have more friends. Lost 4 buddies to the war. All in their early 20s.

We wouldn't have the Unpatriotic Act.

It was a shitty bill and both parties haven't shown any inclination of repealing it. Give the government a new power and they don't want to relinquish it. Should be a lesson for all.

Harold & Kumar would not have been locked up at Guantanamo Bay

What the government is now would have started ten years ago

Less laws and panic, we may not have had to go in debt.

Right, but no way would Bush have had the support to go through with the Invasion if 9/11 hadn't been so fresh. He barely got it as it was.

You, my friend, are woke. Had the games not been postponed, Tennessee would not have beaten a banged-up Florida team in December. It would have been the first-ever LSU - Florida SECCG. And Advantage LSU as Florida was banged up (look up the Darnell Dockett dirty play in 2001).
That, and there’d be no Department of Homeland Security, nor Patriot Act infringing on our liberties.

Trump wouldn't be President and Gore would of finishing his 5th Term after eliminating cars.

Or...Al Qaeda quietly keeps working on WMD'S and in 2009 a crude but effective nuclear device kills upwards of 20K in an an American city.

And none of them would have come within 2 touchdowns of that loaded Miami team. I actually think 2001 Florida was the best team Spurrier ever put on a football field though.

I loved watching SEC football in the 2000s, It was fun to play against Tebow.
Felt good to see some passion in those games.
