Does any Juan have a recipe for getting life to slow down?

I can have my MIL come to your house on the weekends, 2 days will feel like 2 years.

Life only slows down when you speed up.

Get quality outside time by either doing leisure activities like fishing or by working outside.

I went fishing yesterday and today I'm working outside on my property. Turn off the TV, put down the phone and enjoy the birds chirping and the breeze rustling through the trees.

Intermittent fasting. Time will start to drag while you are in fasting stage.

Diet. Nothing slows down the time between meals quite like hunger.

Solid advice. I recently did a five day fast, and minutes felt like hours.

Build a fire from scratch. Process your own fire wood. Cut your own grass. Listen to some music and relax while you “work.” Those things are cheap, easy, and time consuming (and it’s a good workout, and you’ll get some sun). If you wanna spend some money, go hunting, rebuild an old truck, home improvement, etc. The trick is to do something that you enjoy, or find a way to enjoy what you do. Either way. Happiness is a choice.

It also bears noting that if you’re a married father of children who are still in the home- you shouldn’t expect to have much free time. I was told and have learned to appreciate that fact. It is a badge of honor. If you aren’t a married father, then that’s what you should be trying to figure out on your spare time.

My kids are growing up fast. I’m watching the weeks fly past.

It only speeds up. Soon you’ll be watching the months, then years fly by. Everyone tells you to the same thing about time flying with kids, but actually living it is surreal at times.

My oldest is graduating high school this year, taking him home from the hospital after he was born doesn’t feel that long ago.

I think we are all doomed - time relativity is undefeated. Each year becomes a smaller fraction of your life, meaning it feels like it goes by faster and faster. Therefore, enjoy every second and live in the present.

There was a study that said time seems to slow when you’re young because there are so many new experiences and activities.

When we were six it took forever for Christmas to show up because twelve months were a sixth of our lives.

Now a year is a seventieth of mine.

I’m living as fast as I can and as fast as I ever have.

I agree, and i think that’s an important concept…. There’s a saying that’s pretty old i think, but i only heard it recently- ‘Living in the past leads to depression; living in the future leads to anxiety.. the key is living in the present .’

A tried and true way is life change. Reduce your bills. Abandon customs and traditions. That mortgage and it’s related responsibilities, vehicle notes, entertainment bills are out of contro now and causes stressl. Be less interested in mainstream news and media. Become more self sufficient. Be less religious. Get closer to nature.
