I pulled that list, quite literally, from the same source.

I know.

And I told you why they were different.

And you tried to argue with me about it.

You’re basically asking how safe would America be without a certain demographic of people.

If you come up with a better system, let me know.

The crime rate for white America rivals that of Scandinavia.

Is the assumption that the city & inhabitants would just disappear? If not the people causing these problems would just go and cause the same problems in new locations?

I often wonder this for Louisiana. Instead of being last in every category we would be around 25.

Right. This source sucks. They should stick to marketing home security systems.

In about half the "studies" I looked through, I was greeted with an alert:

How worried are you about gun violence?
Take a deeper look at gun violence across the US—and how much Americans are worried about it—in our ongoing coverage that considers both the facts and the fears surrounding this important topic.

How safe would America be if slavery hadn’t happened & blacks had not been mired in a cycle of generational poverty ?

Those are per capita.

The cities listed by OP are by volume.

Take out roughly 1000+ murders per year and it drops a sizable amount off the per capita for the whole country.

What I didn't see discussed is the incidence of reported crimes.
Somebody knocks down a mailbox: it gets reported in small towns, in large cities would anyone even call the police?
Slashed tires?
Landscaping stolen from a yard?

The "police won't come out/investigate/give you a case number for less than _____________fill in the blank, is going to have a major effect on crime reporting.

If the police won’t come out or the DA won’t press charges, people stop calling.

The actual theft rate in California is a lot damn higher than the reported one because state law made it damn near impossible to prosecute shoplifters.

Without doing an extensive analysis that's probably about right. Without the shithole cities our tax burden would be less too which would give us a better quality of life, in general.
