The Airbnb is off Esplanade Blvd near downtown part. I drive a blacked out 2023 Ford F150, so I am worried about A). A break in and B). Potentially getting in an accident while there. My other option is to just rent a car but A and B still apply and the friends I’m with can be unpredictable shvt heads after drinking. Too many horror Uber stories with them and it’s a bachelor party.

Other options I was considering: Take mega bus from Houston and fly back or take mega bus round trip.

Where is this exactly? Towards Frenchman Street I am assuming.

It’s a risk to street park it but it’s not a guarantee that it’s going to get broken into. There is a lot of issues with smash and grab.

I would not bother with Mega Bus. Hell I would take the Amtrak before that.

How much life insurance do you have?

Relocate the bachelor party to Vegas.

It's mostly like anywhere else driving

Sounds awful. I'd rather get robbed

Leave the windows down, the back hatch open, and remove all valuables. It might still be there when yo get back.

You're driving to a bachelor party in New Orleans?!

Yeah, that's getting broken into. Don't leave a piece in it.

I think very much risky, unless you have a junker to drive there.

We don't even stop for gas there anymore.

Pickup Trucks are a usual target and yours sounds like one they’d likely look at breaking into. If you get insurance on the rental and it’s broken into at least it’s not as bad as having to replace your own window/belongings.

Tl;Dr don’t drive your blacked out F150 downtown.

I wouldn't do it overnight unless it's in a secure garage at one of the nicer hotels. Parking is a bitch otherwise and there's a lot of property crime.

F-150's are common targets BTW.

If you are going to park it in the city I’d find a covered lot associated with a hotel or hospital and pay to park it and Uber to your Airbnb.

That goes for many big cities now, but especially New Orleans.

You can at least pre-game on an Amtrak. There's a bar/cafe car on most of them.

Like a 70% chance a truck gets broken into. School getting out. Lots of 14 year olds will be looking to have some fun

Just leave your doors unlocked and windows down, take out all of your personal belongings. Remove the truck nuts before you leave Houston so you aren't going through TSA with trucknuts in your luggage on your way back to Houston.

Make sure your insurance premium is up to date.
