I have older patients saying their parents couldn’t afford it when they were young, so they finally decided to take care of themselves once they finish up getting all their kids out of treatment. Had an 80 year old in treatment not long ago.

Seems like getting your wife a new rack would be a better investment by that time.

I call them adult braces.
yeah I thinkn if you’re over 20 you can go invisaline or just live with your teeth.

Had to get braces in my 20s. Not fun.
I only had them because I had an impacted canine tooth that decided to pop out in the middle of my palate. It wasn’t by choice.

There is not a too old.
Some people just finally get to the point that they can fix their teeth and want to do so.

1) can invisalign be done for top only?
2) how long per day must invisalign be worn?
Had braces twice as a kid .. 2 phases actually. Bottom teeth are starting to crowed and cause flossing issues. Considering a consult for invisalign.

I think at 80 I’d just go with dentures.

33 - Had to do surgery for my big arse underbite that was going to cause other dental issues if I didn’t finally take care of it. The thing that surprised me was just how little anyone cares.

I have friends in their 30’s with them I think it’s very strange.

I would rather look at braces than funky teeth.

I had to get them in my early 40s for the second time. Set I had in middle school straightened my teeth but didn't fix my bite. Over the decades, it started causing gum recession, so I had them put on again. Was much more involved the second time around and 10x more excruciating.

No age is too old. People that got them as kids often don't realize the lengths people with a busted grill often go to in order to hide their teeth. And they've usually been doing that since junior high.
And the definition of busted grill lies with the person stuck with it; it may just be something many people would think of as minor, but it may be a source of embarrassment to the person. Besides, it's cosmetic, so they're paying for it out of pocket, who cares? It's not like Botox that needs to be redone constantly (I've had a permanent retainer in for 35 years.)

Yeah man, if that’s your main goal for treatment, it can be an option.
ETA: 22 hours a day. Take em out to eat and brush.

I know where you can get braces for your Dentures so you look younger.

my mom got hers in late 50 or early 60s.
The orthodontist was the son of the one who put braces on her children -including me.

I had them at 32. Teeth were fine, had a bit of an overbite and they were scrapping.
I don’t fault anyone for getting them at any point.

I think the real question is what too young . The people slap braces on kids before they’re teenagers and end up having to do it twice . I’d said they need to be 16 or older
