Whenever I move, I get one that fits the room best rather than obsessing over tech. If I did that, I’d have bought a 3D TV before that fad generally died off.

42” lcd while I was single renting a house back when those were new.

55”+ LED at the first house I lived in after getting married.

Roughly 38” smart TV in the new house, with the caveats that this was to fit the fireplace evenly (not stretch over and block cabinet space) and the intention was to get the kids to watch TV in their own rooms, which is why there wasn’t a TV in the living room for so long.

And each time I get a main TV, the old one rotates to another room.

The 42” was for the kids in the old house and in the master bedroom in the new house.

The 55” is in the hobby room where my game systems are in the new house.

Exactly...I had a Sony 60" and the only reason I got a new one is because it kept powering off. The last time it shut off was about three hours before a Saints game. It was about 11 years old.

I think every 7 years is good. Always avoid the latest pitfall like 3D TVS.

I'm still rocking my big coffee table/ Zenith with no remote. BTW, I'm typing this from a rotary phone.

I bought a 65 inch top of the line samsung in like 2011 and it's held up well. The difference is noticeable from new ones, but not enough to justify the purchase

My main tv in my house is a Panasonic plasma from around 2011. Seemed great to me until I recently bought new TV's for my camp. I bought those new TCL series... they look so much nicer that now I have upgrade-itis again.

I swear this is what im thinking. I have a great 55" Samsung from 2011 and the feeling to upgrade it. although cable doesn't put out any 4K video, Netflix does and it looks absolutely amazing compared to my current TV. im thinking im due for a new one

every year you should be able to sell your old TV and buy a new one with hardly any loss, if not a profit.

Nobody is buying your year old TV for more than you paid for it

They won’t if you take one shitty photo for the craigslist ad and put no effort into selling it. My last TV I bought on Black Friday for around $150, relisted it for $200 a year later, and sold it for $175 to some lady looking for a TV for her dad’s nursing home room. She thought it was a great deal lol. It’s called being a winner.

Main TV came with the house, will replace it when it breaks or we move.

I've bought two other TVs though this year. The actual main TV in the living rooms is the one that is probably watched the least.
