Correct, for me 2000 & 2008.

I surprised her (wife, no pics) this Summer with a replacement for the 2008, but it wasn’t on any holiday or anniversary, etc.

We were in NW Fl on vacation and she thought it was a new company ride for me.

My wife passed in June, if she was here this Christmas, I'd spend 100% of my income or would donate 100% of my income to have her here for Christmas

My husband normally gets me a gift certificate for a mani-pedi, and I do something of the like for him. We have three kids, and we’d rather focus on their Christmas.

Correct. We take a big vacation every year and then both agree to take it easy for Christmas. I usually still buy her something less than .003% of our combined gross income. But that's because I want to, not because she demands or expects it. We'd much prefer not participate in unbridled American consumerism and spend our money enjoying the world together.

In fact, we've recently begun an exercise in how little we can spend on things that most people view as "must haves" in America today. Cable, for instance: we cut the cord, signed up for sling, and rarely used it before realizing we don't need cable TV at all. All we'd really watch is sports and news. Sports can be difficult not to have from time to time, but my increased reading has filled the void. News we don't miss in the slightest.

You should get a handle on that.

We're not exchanging gifts. We do stuff for each other throughout the year and there's nothing either of us want or need that we don't have, so we thinks it's dumb to buy stuff just for the sake of it.
