I’m assuming they’re going to lose a shite load of revenue from their taxes going elsewhere. There will be very few top students going to EBR schools now. Is it basically going to become Shreveport or a larger Lewisville now?

How far down can it go in a few years? Depends on where SWB takes it.

And using that logic, I think they’re fricked.

It’s been heading that direction for at least three years.

The corpse of a thug “selling CDs” killed what was left of BR.

Baton Rouge is the central hub of higher ed, government, and industry for this part of the state and that isn't going to change any time soon, if ever.

City spending will have to be restructured and that's a good thing IMO.

EBR schools will continue on their same course for about five years before whatever impact from St. George begins to materialize.

So is Jackson MS for that part of MS. Doesn’t mean it’s not absolutely dreadful as a city.

I think most of Mississippi would object to Jackson State being considered education.

Starkville, Oxford, and Hattiesburg are the three major hubs for higher education in the state, though each likes to downplay the other two.

You don’t know what your talking about huh? St George school issue will take years to figure out. I don’t believe they even plan on addressing a plan for a few years.

shite, the reality of the vote passing may actually force Baton Rouge to address some of its issues

BR will now have to try and become more fiscally responsible with a lot less money. Yeah, that'll go over well. The Baton Rouge'ns will eventually turn on each other. It will get ugly.

Good luck Sharon & posse, have fun being racist among yourselves.

Well he specified, “for this part of the state”. There’s quite a few unis in Jackson.

Well I know it’s not going to get worse overnight. However, is the schools one of the main reasons for this new city?

People keep forgetting the ISD isn’t a given. That has to be voted on as well & I think it’s either a Parish or statewide vote. Yikes.
