Damn wine by the glass or mixed drinks can eat a check alive around here. Bugs the hell out me honestly.

Aren't you in Dallas? We go to a bunch of BYOB places since we have so much alcohol at the house. Mediterranean, Chinese, italian, seafood, etc all in the Dallas area.

Tony's on northwest highway is like a $15 tab when we leave and we drink a good bit of wine.

We don't go out THAT much, but when we do I can't get out for under $70.
Are you adding in drinks as well?

Or just eating at nicer places 3-4 times per week?

That's either 4 times per week at a cheap ish restaurant or twice per week at a nice and more pricy restaurant.

2-3 times at a "sit-down" non-chain restaurant, including drinks. Also, a couple lunches.

It could definitely be done cheaper, I'm just showing that it's not hard to reach $1200. Especially if you're going to happy hour a couples time a week, too.

Our food/drink budget is much better in Lafayette than it was in New Orleans

No clue on cost of the food we eat at home since I haven't bought a week's worth of groceries in about 10 years. If we're talking about eating out with the family (and not business related lunches/dinners), probably 800-1000 per month. We will usually go out to eat 2-3 times from Friday night through Sunday and average about 100 per.

I budget about $600/month for myself. I eat out a lot and every work day for lunch. I’ll do dinner at home about 5 nights a week where I’ll cook.

I started dating again recently and had to create a separate budget for it because it can get expensive and was creating a lot of noise in “food” tracking.

This is an area where I could save more but I enjoy going out to dinner with friends and I’m not going to cut it out.

Average dinner paying for only myself is going to run close to $35-40 once it is all said and done (dinner, drink, tax, tip). Dinner dates are typically $100-125 depending on how many drinks are ordered. I prefer doing brunch dates now...cuts the alcohol consumption and I can get out for more like $40

Food is just expensive in New Orleans. I don't know about $70, but it was rare that we got out of a restaurant for under $50, without drinks. Lily's was our go-to if we wanted a cheap meal, and that was around $20-30 or so.

About $700-800 a month. Typically spend around $125 a week for groceries and eat out once on the weekends. Family of 6.

Doesn't matter if I eat at restaurants or at home, my budget is about the same. Didn't used to be that way, but food costs at the grocery went up when the ethanol mandate went in.

More than I should, not as much as I'd like.

90% is probably spent at Raisin' Canes, McDonald's, Popeye's, Thai Pepper, Kaminari, Sonic (for checking knuckles), and the LSU Student Union Chik-fil-a & Panda Express.

I'm trying to cut back on it, but law school sucks time like a black hole and my SO really likes fried chicken tenders, nuggets, and sandwiches for some reason.

It is impossible for this to be an accurate statement. Do you realize how much overhead and labor goes into running a restaurant and you think it costs the same as you cooking groceries?

Every trip to Costco is $200 and we go 4 times a month. Blue Apron is like $100/month

So $900 on groceries and probably $600 on restaurants.

This includes booze.

I guess if you eat out alot. The wife and I plan out at least 5 meals a week. I'd say with those and 2-3 take out meals a week we average about $200/week so $800/month.

She’s good (weighs 100 lbs soaking wet). I definitely need some major changes. I’m gradually weening myself off of bread, fried food, and soda. I already kicked the candy and a lot of the processed snack foods to the curb.

I don't know the grocery prices where you are at, but I'm calling bs on that figure.

Don't know what to tell you. I watch my budget and the numbers are the same no matter where the food is bought.

Now, I'm not talking about eating at a steak house every night, but I also don't eat fast food.
