Somewhat. They're sourced from existing plants but the batches and formulations may be different.

Mayo was created as a moister barrier between a piece of bread and whatever you put on top of, or in it so the bread doesnt get soggy.
If I'm eating meat between two pieces of bread, there is 100% going to be mayo on it. I also like Miracle Whip but only on an egg sandwich

I fricking hate mayo. I'll eat crawfish dip every once in awhile if it's seasoned well, but to hell with just mayo.

A normal sandwich cannot hod enough mayo for me, so I fill a bowl with it for dipping.

Mayo, ranch, sour cream, tartar sauce, and Cane's sauce all taste like shite.

BLT without mayo is a sad sandwich.

Anybody remember on The Tonight Show when Ed would tell Johnny that he had an ancestor named General McMahon who served w/Napoleon? He claimed Mayonnaise was originally "McMahonaise" and named after this guy

A LITTLE mayo on a sloppy hot roast beef poboy is ambrosia. The mayonnaise has to make contact with the meat, the gravy, and the bread for the magic to happen.
Same is true on a greasy burger.
The sandwich must be hot or at least warm, and with an appropriate mayo portion, though. A glob of mayo on a cold sandwich is foul.
I won't go into chicken, tuna or egg salad. Those speak for themselves.

How are you supposed to eat a turkey sandwich?

Mayo has been gross ever since the day someone thought up the idea.

Toast the bread, and spread it thin.
