they eat just as much, make as much of a mess, and take up as much furniture space that’s for damn sure

1 Chocolate lab. If you know Chocolates, that’s enough.

Two dogs.
3 unofficial barn cats... used to be 9, the coyotes have been hungry.
About 1 million fish, the wife has a few aquariums.
1 turtle.
6 geckos, a bunch of frogs... one of the kids loves them
2 ponds full of fish and crawfish the above kid stocked with fish from the creek...
I've been fending off the wife and kids' wishes to get chickens and livestock. I fear that battle has been lost, though... I expect to be building a coop soon.

It's hard enough to find someone to take care of all these critters when we leave town as it is.

I live close to a camping area where pets are dropped off.

Inside we have 2 dogs, 3 cats and 4 fish. We lost one of our outside cats last night. She was the momma of the 4 outside cats we have now. I was out until 11 digging a grave with our 8 year old son. It was the first time for him losing a pet so it was a long night.

He made her a little headstone.

This is Ralph. He is cross eyed, so he can’t see very well and runs into everything. He also eats ponytails holders. He had surgery last month to remove over 50 from his stomach. He almost died. So ponytails are now outlawed in the Salmon household.

But he is pretty chill otherwise. He likes me the best, which makes my daughters hopelessly sad.

I just wish he wasn’t so dumb.

A friend's wife wanted a horse for their pasture. He told her that it would be like adopting a very dumb child. It will never be self sufficient, and it will drain your time and money as long as it lives.

Two labs. One is 13 and one just turned 2. I always try to have two so they play and exercise each other.
Have 4 cats inside, though two belong to my son who's new wife figured out she was very allergic.......
We have chickens and rabbits outside, but I wouldnt consider them pets. They serve a purpose.

2 dogs and an outdoor (neutered) cat.

My dog is an elegant little female lab. She hunts with me quite a bit. She's an awesome dog.

My wife's dog is a 75 lb catahoula cur mix and I hope he dies soon.

I trapped the cat and had it neutered then fed it in a kennel for a week or two. Turned it loose and it hangs around but doesn't let anybody touch him. He leaves a rat at the door every now and then. I need to name him.
