Never flown private but have been on a helicopter and private yacht with staff serving drinks and food. It's a nice life if you can afford it

I’ve flown in a few corporate private jets. Usually it’s only if there is a group of us going somewhere. Majority of the time I fly commercial.

Usually it isn’t like that. They show you where your booze and catering is and you grab it yourself…. Unless you are on a big boy that has a stewardess.
Tide07, what was that G550 like? That sounds awesome.

I flew on one from Lakefront Airport in NOLA to Batesville, Indiana and back. Don’t know what type of plane. Beats the hell out of Southwest Airlines.

Flown once in one in my entire life…it was my son’s first plane ride, which I always thought was a good microcosm into how different our lives have been. We called in a favor with a very well off family friend to help us get from Texas to Mississippi for a family emergency on very short notice and they were kind enough to be willing to help.
It was a small plane, Leerjet 31A if I’m looking at this tail number right. The ceiling was low, the seats were big and comfy, but beyond that it was just a fight.
After experiencing everything short of a full cavity search for TSA, the thing that really surprised me was the absolute non-existence of security. We left from the Houston area, it was literally a building we waited in next to the runway. There were maybe 2-3 staff there, and none seemed to even care we were there…we only knew when the plane was arriving by tracking its tail number.
When it arrived the pilots came and got us, I could’ve brought literally anything on the the plane…no one even pretended to check.
We were picked up on the runway by family, bags went straight into the car before they pulled into the hanger.
Smuggling stuff across the country must be really easy if you have the means, the rest of us have to dump out our wattle bottles before being herded like cattle into our seats.

It was my first time, and I was nervous as hell because there was a tropical storm approaching NOLA. As we landed in Hammond, the plane felt like it was sideways.
Not sure what kind it was, but it had twin engines and sat eight.

yeah, I know, each operation is a little different, took a few trips with this dude who made a fortune in roller skates/skateboards who was an avid fisherman, he had a Westwind II and about an 80' Hatteras, fully crewed that would take the boat to wherever the fish that this guy was looking for wanted to fish, his wife fancied herself as the flight attendant, was really into it

I have for a business trip. Hearing in Florida at 9 am. We left Louisiana at 6:30 and were there for like 8:15.
We were back in Lafayette by about 1 pm.
Pretty sweet all around.

Multiple trips. Used to work for a manufacturer and we used them a lot.
From memory:
Citation X (when they were the newest and fastest thing out there). I made a trip from Colorado Springs to Indianpolis and back in an afternoon. We were in Springs for a race (Indy racing league) and I had an impromptu meeting with the CEO of indy racing and we flew to and from Indy while we had our meeting.
CJ3 and 4 - Nice planes have flown them multiple times.
Gulfstream GIVSP - like riding in a cadilac at the time it was the best Gulfstream on the market.
Does Air Force 1 count as private? I was an E-2 and got stuck on a flight on AF1 because of some electronics issues I was the tech. I wasn't allowed to be anywhere on the plane except the communications area.

Usually 2-3 times a year over the last 20 years on clients' corporate jets. On the small end HondaJets and Citations up to a G450 once last year. I have been on a few turboprops as well.
The time saved is pretty remarkable. The thing that struck me flying on the smaller ones is how short the floor-to-ceiling is in the cabin. I am not super tall (just over 6') but felt like I almost had to crawl into a HondaJet. A bit disconcerting and I would imagine a potential nightmare for someone that has a fear of flying.
The best part is if you are flying to a relatively small city you can fly right into the local airport and unless there is a fuel stop it is a direct flight.

I’ve only flown on a private jet, never commercial. My late uncle owned one and I flew in to Gulf Shores three times. Twice for vacation and the other to go deep sea fishing on his yacht.

Once, with my 5 day old son.

Yea the height thing is pretty wild the first couple times. I’m 6 2 so it’s rare that I can ever stand up. As for the fear of lying thing though, I find most people I ride with are less scared in private jets. It’s smaller for sure but you aren’t also surrounded by 100 strangers with weird smells and lots of commotion.

I flew in a float plane to fish Delacroix, me.
