How many OT'ers have flown on a private jet, and what kind was it (if you know)?

Been on several. This is the OT. I used to almost exclusively use a phenom 300 but now I use some midsize ones for longer trips. Biggest I’ve been in was a G4. That sucker was huge and had a stewardess. Very nice, as you could imagine.

I've done it twice. It gets you to where you are going FAST.

Are those business trips or personal?

Some of my mom's relatives had a Lear jet. We had the chance to fly on it some years ago when we needed to go to a funeral but could not get a commercial flight. It was nice, more comfortable than business class on a regular airline. The landing was very smooth as I recall.

Been on a company prop plane that held 8 passengers 10-12 times, but not a private Jet. I really enjoyed the travel and not having to deal with security. The seats were luxury and the snacks, beverages, and food provided was very nice. Able to land at smaller more direct airports to the area we wanted to go to.

Both. I started using one for business and then eventually got spoiled to where I use them for personal. As a previous poster said, the biggest benefit is convenience. You pull up straight to plane, jump on and leave. No airport mess.

Never have. Probably could "afford" to do it once or twice a year if I really want to. I feel it's one of those things that's really easy to get used to and hard to come back from and such a huge amount of $ over even a first class ticket.

Flown private many times with wealthy friends. It will make you hate flying commercial

I have no idea what kind of jets they were because I keep knowledge of things that I will never have out of my brain .

Not a jet but I have a friend with a Scotia TBM 700 turboprop that's a fun little ride.

I feel like if I get a taste of flying private I'll find it hard to go back.

Even the convenience of flying JSX has jaded my regular flying experience

Citation X - the takeoffs were fun. Fast jet. It was hard to see two grown men (pilots) catering to you and being servile. But loads of fun other than that. I have good friends.

When I have it was usually a lear 45. What was great about it was the privacy and being able to fly to different airports in an area and at times no or limited security to deal with. Everything was quick and fast.

Netjets mostly.

Citation
Falcon
Gulfstream 550

I’d say preference is often related to configuration. Even within the same “plane” when they had various layouts or were updated it really impacted which was best for the trip rather than class etc.

Some are a good deal faster than others and have longer ranges however which if you are going cross country is a definite advantage because you don’t have to worry about refueling.

Global Express 5000 and a G450

We flew from central Texas to telluride in what felt like 30 minutes a lot.

Company I worked for had a PC12, was nice to get to from KNEW to SSI in about 50 minutes

My neighbor-ish has a phenom100 that he uses like an Uber to get around Louisiana/MS delta
