Have been to NOLA countless times the last decade. Almost always have an excellent time, and have tons of good memories. But here are the bad things that have "actually happened":
- someone attempted to pickpocket me in the quarter
- wife's car window got smashed and useless things got stolen
- friend was sold fake drugs (lol)
- car alignment destroyed by shitty roads (probably)
I love the city of New Orleans. And I love leaving after a few days!

I remember when I took my first gun safety class they said one of the best ways to ensure proper safety if you have to draw your gun is to close your eyes and shoot one handed behind your back while running in the other direction.
But of course you’re only supposed to draw your gun if you see someone you don’t like and evens then only fire of you think they trippin or frontin

TRUE STORY: We studied Louisiana History in 8th grade and took a trip to the south at the end of the year.
We went to Avery Island, some plantations and then New Orleans.
Some guy got shot in the head in front of our entire class and fell out on the sidewalk.
Scared the sheet out of a bunch of country kids from rural north La

I watched a guy snap someone's wrist on Bourbon once. He caught a pickpocket. Pickpocket did something smart. Guy was a crackhead and super skinner. The guy being pickpockets looked exactly like Kevin Nash. Over 6'4" over 250#s. Like not a good mark at all to frick with. He legit grabbed the pick pockets hand and hyperexyended it over itself. I often wondered if that was enough to stop that pick pocket's career.

One time on Bourbon a woman asked if I wanted a shot. I said yes. She poured two down my throat. Then did something with two more then she took two more then have me two more before I realized every happened she said $40.
I reach into my pocket and pull out a card. I didn't have cash. She had a bouncer escort me to an ATM to get money out. At that point I just decided to run. Figured I wouldn't get chased over $40 and I was right.
This was at Whatever was before Bourbon beach club.
I don't even acknowledge shot girls anymore.

Hilarious…
After the fact the cops came to do their thing and couldn’t believe it. The car was registered to the driver and he left his cellphone on the front seat. I hope the video I had at least helped exonerate the driver. He was pissed. He cussed his buddy out all the way up the street.
I was working from home when it happened and heard that guy cussing a blue streak.

Got robber by hispanic guys coming out of Beef Baron years ago, My 1st cousin was shot and killed uptown one night, a group of people who were attending a seminar with me were robbed waiting for the Algiers Ferry in the middle of the afternoon, one was pistol whipped.
When I was young I used to be able to go to NO, now I'm old and crippled, an easy target. I went to Mandina's a few months ago, first trip in years, I was shocked at how bad the streets are. Not in just off areas, but downtown and most other places. NO doesn't need speed limit signs.
I see no reason to ever go back and won't. NO is not a functioning city offering safety and civic pride, it is a dump. When the next hurricane floods it, and it will happen, there will be no sentiment to rebuild, let it rot away.

My car broken into 3 separate times.
2 coworkers had cars stolen just this past year.
Moved to the Northshore to get out, although I still work there.

Always thought that guy got off easy.
"Hahaha bro it's a prank" rapes LSU fan with gay Alabama penis "man what a cool prank that was! Prank! Prank!!"
Not saying the guy should've gotten the whole Deputy Dennis treatment, but that Bama fan didn't even get put on the SO list.

Had my hotel room robbed by maids, had phones stolen twice, keys stolen once. Followed a few times in attempts to rob me but I was able to go into restaurants to avoid it. The city doesn’t offer anything that other safe cities don’t. So I’m done.

My 2 sisters and wife were robbed at gun point about 100 yards away from me and my BIL. We stopped to get a beer and they kept walking. Walked up to them crying and freaking out.
I've also had a decoy wallet taken out of my pocket. The only thing in it was a piece of paper that said some version of "nice try, bitch" except the word bitch may have been a racist slur. Credit to my NOPD uncle for that idea.

My girlfriend and I were in New Orleans from the 2nd until yesterday.
Stayed in Lower Garden District and ventured all over Garden District, French Quarter, Bywater etc to eat out and have drinks.
No problems at all.
Lots of great new restaurants and bars have opened since we were there last.
New Orleans has always been fairly sketchy compared to cities like New York/Brooklyn or LA because bad areas aren't as separated from desired ones. However, nothing gave the impression of it being much different than it's been for 30 years.
