Leaving LA after college was one of the best decisions I ever made. My family remains in Louisiana, and are the only reason I ever visit. If they moved, I'd never visit the state.

The food is rapidly becoming available across the country. Cajuns are spreading their cuisine faster than I've ever seen it.

Louisiana is a lost cause. Too much of the population has become lazy and entitled to government assistance. There is no pride in the state anymore. Nobody truly wants to make it a better place. I often hear people say that when you visit Louisiana, it's like visiting another country. I often wonder if the other countries it reminds people of are 3rd world nations in the Caribbean.

I'll always love Louisiana, but it's no longer the place I grew up in.

Just move to the non hurricane prone areas of the state inland.

It’s been said “pussies need not apply” I’d imagine the soy level and need for Tampa to drop in the coming months

That's where I'm considering. Sylva, Dillsboro, a little farther east.

Already was looking for a place in Bozeman. This has accelerated the process.

My last straw came years ago....but the family is staying in Louisiana, so I will stay.

I have travelled to every lower 48 state in this nation, and there are far better areas to live!

If you could move, what state is your landing spot?
Mine would be Idaho or Wisconsin....

Even though Houston is on the coast, they have a way to avoid most hurricane activity.

I guess you for got about Harvey? There is no way to avoid a hurricane if you are on the Gulf Coast.

Not easy to pick up and leave. Taking kids out of a school away from their friends, way easier said than done.

You say this as if there is some payoff for the shitty parts about the state. There isn’t, it just all sucks and is more expensive and hard than needed all so a massive amounts of entitlements can be handed out and crooked politicians get fat.

For those that say they stay for LSU that is just the saddest thing in the world to me. LSU is a shithole of CRT and BLM now and will continue to slide further into irrelevancy

We left in 2020 because Shreveport is going downhill fast.
