Arandas contract question - tigersfan1989 on 1/16/20 at 5:43 pm
So Aranda renewed a 4 year 2.5 mil a yeAr guaranteed with LSU earlier this month. Seeing as if he goes to Baylor how does he exit his contract with LSU? Does LSU get a certain amount of money from Baylor for him leaving? Or is it something different....

re: Dave Ramsey's advice to pay off a car loan, rather than invest - tigersfan1989 on 1/15/20 at 4:32 pm
Mathematically nothing is wrong with a interest free loan. I guess like the other poster said the personal finance part comes in to play where I personally wouldn’t like it for me. But each to his own. As long as you’re happy with it that’s all that matters at the end of the day....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Dave Ramsey's advice to pay off a car loan, rather than invest - tigersfan1989 on 1/15/20 at 4:03 pm
While we are at it let’s finance the living room furniture, refrigerator, washer and dryer bc we can get a great rate and invest that money in the market too. I’d hate to see all those payments....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (3)
re: Dave Ramsey's advice to pay off a car loan, rather than invest - tigersfan1989 on 1/15/20 at 3:29 pm
Depreciation is going to happen if you own the car outright or finance i'm not sure how that is relevent. If you are selling your car financed you may have to pony up some more money after selling the car to pay off the note. All i'm saying is paying cash for the car causes you to buy something you ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Dave Ramsey's advice to pay off a car loan, rather than invest - tigersfan1989 on 1/15/20 at 12:33 pm
I'd rather have a paid off car if i got laid off rather than stuck with a payment. I don't want to be forced to sell stock/mutual fund for a possible loss in order to cover my car loan while i'm unemployed. I agree long term the market has a good return but thats long term and when you can control w...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)

I don't take advantage on every spread. Do you refinance and cash out your house every time you get 20% or so equity and invest in the market? Not everything needs to be financed and money thrown in the market....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (2)
How do you pay for your cars? - tigersfan1989 on 1/10/20 at 12:37 pm
Me and the wife plan to put 300-500 a month away in a car fund and use that money when we need a new car and pay cash or finance some depending on what happens. We currently don’t hAve a car note so we are seeing how this method will work out. How much do y’all set aside each month for savings or d...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (22)
re: Explain the difference in 401K’s like I’m 5 - tigersfan1989 on 1/7/20 at 11:46 am
People put after tax in 401k over roth for a few reasons. You can put post-tax money in 401K and do in service roll over to a Roth IRA. Doing this allows you to get more into your Roth IRA rather than the standard 6K. Also some people are outside income limits to contribute to Roth. Also once you ro...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Any Trailer Park owners out there? - tigersfan1989 on 1/3/20 at 7:39 pm
Very good income. Sometimes it’s hard to find banks that are willing to finance. Like other poster said park prices are high right now so it’s going to be harder to turn a profit getting in at too high. I know several park owners who have made out very well on parks. They also spend a good bit of th...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: How much did you save for retirement in 2019? - tigersfan1989 on 12/23/19 at 9:00 pm
I’d just pay minimum on student loans if it were me and invest any extra cash. I didn’t have any loans to deal with but that’s what I would do in your situation. Just my 2 cents. I’d invest in s&p index funds. Unless for some reason your student loans are high interest. I can’t remember but you shou...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)

Jealously runs deep on td. The reason there are downvotes. Most people posting I find are talking about achievements and conversations to better one another’s financial situations collectively and not so much here with the intention to brag. Good work on retirement contributions this year money boar...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
Christmas gifts - tigersfan1989 on 12/12/19 at 11:15 am
So I’m getting a couple gift cards today for Christmas gifts and it dawned on me. Although I’m only in my 30ls I’m tired of this whole gift swapping with family members mom dad brother etc every year. It seems like I’m either giving gift cards to someone or getting them. Or getting some useless stuf...

re: Need help with budgeting - tigersfan1989 on 12/8/19 at 12:11 pm
1,000 a month to savings for what goal? Maybe if you assigned it a certain goal she would be more motivated. For example is it for a beach house, rental property, bigger house one day. Sometimes saving just to save with no goal can seem like a bottomless pit for some people. Some people don’t see in...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
