Well, I'm not and I don't, but that would be a better alternative than being a fat slob like most of you.

5’11” and 215. I am obese. If only I were a pound lighter I would only be overweight. Guess I can gain the other 64 pounds and still be in the same obese range.

This thread has been a very good indicator of my first post. The fat acceptance movement and the shift of "normal" towards fat.

Think whatever you want. Some of us don’t grow up dreaming to look like we have eating disorders.

We will be here for you when you need help opening a jar or picking up your luggage.

No you won't because you'll either be dead or at the doctor trying to get your diabetes under control.

It's interesting to look at old high school/college yearbooks from the seventies and earlier. Most of them look painfully thin by current standards, and even the heavyset ones would look pretty average today.

The amount of people making this point reminds me again how stupid most of the people on this board are.

Men do the same bullshite women do nowadays where they underestimate the frick out of their appearance.

The majority of people who say, “I could lose a few pounds, but I’m not fat,” are usually obese.

Scruffy is 5’7” and usually runs between 156-160, depending on how often he goes to the gym. Tends to drop if he skips a few days.

I'm 5-10, 188 as of this morning. I do work out and have a good bit of muscle, but I have no illusions about needing to lose about 10 lbs. Of course last time I lost weight I managed to give myself gallstones.

Yep.

Like Scruffy said earlier in regards to BMI, it is, at times, not applicable to body types due to muscle mass, but that is rare.

Also, if anyone is curious, even when accounting for muscle mass, studies show that lifespan and health are the same across BMI.

So, as for how health is concerned, it really doesn’t matter whether you are muscular with a high BMI or fat with a high BMI, the health impact is the same.

Being fat doesn’t necessarily really make you strong (maybe lower body strength).

People like you who have this mentality is the reason why this country keeps on getting fatter and fatter.

I'm tempted to post a pic to make you feel bad about yourself. Let me see what I have on my phone.

Interesting. I wonder what accounts for that.
